Mumbai Chapter

Mentor Me India formally launched its pilot program in the summer of 2013. Through our partnership with The Akanksha Foundation, we identified thirty girls aged 9-12 who attend the Shindewadi Public School in Dadar, Mumbai to join us as our first cohort of mentees. We also recruited mentors through our corporate relationships and alumni networks. After receiving nearly 100 mentor applications, we selected thirty young professional women to become the mentors for our pilot program.

This first cohort graduated in June 2014 after one year of regular one-on-one meetings. We hope some of these relationships we,helped creating will last for a lifetime!

Summer 2014

In the Summer 2014, we successfully launched our second cohort. Not only we opened the programme to boys and girls, but we also extended our first school in Dadar to 45 mentees in total, and launched activity in another area of Bombay – Bhandup – with 25 new mentees there!

Winter 2014

A new challenge completed for Mentor Me India! With the Winter 2014 Cohort in Goregaon, we proved that we were able to recruit, train, and on-board 2 cohorts during the year, and open activities in a new area in the same time! We can now serve most areas of Mumbai and suburbs. Thanks to the support of the AB Goregaonkar school where all the new mentees come from, 45 new mentor-mentee pairs could start their journey together with us in December 2014.
